I recently sat down with the 6’4 guard Stephen Holt, the 4 year basketball player from Saint Mary’s College and senior team captain. I met him freshman year and followed him when I called the Saint Mary’s basketball games. He finished 10th in SMC’s history with 1,370 points and fell just one shy of the schools record for career steals with 173. Stephen also ended his career with 401 free throws which is 4th best all time in SMC history. Here is what he had to say.

Blake was traded to the Golden State Warriors for Kent Bazemore and
MarShon Brooks. He signed with the Lakers in the summer of 2010 and has
been a vital part of the team. He will become an unrestricted free agent this
summer and said he would consider returning to the Lakers.

The Yankees are no longer the top spenders of the MLB, there is a new sheriff in town. The Los Angeles Dodgers are now the leaders for the top spenders this year with a total of 235 million dollars. After a thrilling game, Connecticut (Uconn) is moving on to the final four. They beat Michigan State by the final score of 60 to 54. This pushes the Huskies to the final four. Shabazz Napier had a great game, and had the final 3 points for the Huskies. Uconn will take on the Florida Gators this Saturday (April 5th) for a chance to head to the national championship game. Mike Montgomery, University of California basketball head coach, has called for a press conference that will take place on March 31. The department is thinking that this will have to deal with his retirement, but no one knows what he will say. The athletic department is searching for a new coach during this NCAA tournament, just in case he does retire. (READ FROM ESPN.COM)

Nuns on the Bus is a campaign of NETWORK, A National Catholic Social Justice Lobby, which was founded by 47 Catholic Sisters more than 40 years ago. Their mission is to be a Catholic leader in the global movement for justice and peace — that educates, organizes and lobbies for economic and social transformation. The Nuns came to Saint Mary's College where we got some audio from Sister Campbell.

I grew up in Huntington Beach, California with three older brothers. With their love for sports and competition, this propelled me to follow this passion. Along with my parents, I would not be where I am today. Currently, I am a senior at Saint Mary's College and looking to get a job in the sports world when I graduate.
